- @BSounds
-
- The sub-menu lets you turn individual sounds on or off. The top
-
- item lets you turn off all sounds without having to untick all the
-
- other items.
-
-
-
- @BJoker in First Rack
-
- If ticked then the first player's rack contains at least one joker.
-
- This makes it easier to start the game.
-
-
-
- @BShow Computer Cards
-
- If ticked then the cards belonging to computer players are visible.
-
- Scrupulously honest players can turn off this option so that their
-
- moves won't be influenced by the cards in a computer player's rack.
-
-
-
- @BBlink Computer Moves
-
- If ticked then cards for computer players are temporarily hilighted
-
- as they are moved to the board. This can help make it easier to see
-
- where the computer moved.
-
-
-
- @BTell Computer to Move
-
- If ticked then a computer player will only move after you click on
-
- the MOVE button or hit the enter key. If unticked then computer
-
- players move automatically. If all players are computer players
-
- then an entire game will be played without any interaction.
-
- This is great fun to watch and an excellent demonstration of
-
- how to make moves.
-
-
-
- @BAllow Hints
-
- If ticked then you can do various things like ask the computer for
-
- help (via 8 and 9 keys), look at the cards remaining in the bag,
-
- and command-click on cards in the rack to swap them with cards
-
- in the bag. Turn this option off if you need help to avoid the
-
- temptation to cheat!
-
-
-
- @BSort Cards by Suit
-
- If ticked then cards in future racks are initially sorted into suits.
-
-
-
- @BSort Cards by Value
-
- If ticked then cards in future racks are initially sorted by value.
-
-
-
- @BShow All Racks
-
- If ticked then all player racks will be displayed. These racks can be
-
- moved to any desired screen location. The current player's rack is
-
- always in front.
-
-
-
- @BFloating Racks
-
- If ticked then the current player's rack will float over the board
-
- and can be moved anywhere on the screen.
-
-
-
- @BRack Above Board
-
- If ticked then the fixed rack will be placed above the board.
-
-
-
- @BSave Statistics
-
- If ticked then at the end of every game CrossCards will save some
-
- statistics in a text file called "player1 vs player2 vs ...".
-
- The file is created in the Statistics folder. It is updated after
-
- every game played between the same players. A summary of the
-
- statistics can be seen by clicking in the arrow near the bottom
-
- right corner of the scoresheet.
-
-
-
- @BTimer...
-
- Change the timer settings. If enabled then the time left for each
-
- player is shown in the scoresheet. The timer counts down until
-
- the time limit is exceeded, and then it starts counting up (in red).
-
- Note that the time limit is cumulative for all moves, as in chess.
-
- At the end of a game, any player exceeding the time limit will
-
- have the specified penalty subtracted from their score.
